Over the years I’ve collected wool sweaters to shrink and use as felted material for bags, mittens and various other home products. Each item is one of a kind since after the sweater is cut and used it is gone. I like to see how efficient I can be in using most of the sweater. Cuffs and sleeves are useful for little pouches. The bodies can be cut to be the side of a purse or tote bag. Tiny scraps can be shaped into designs on top of contrast colors. Similarly I cut up shirts, skirts and other clothing to use for pockets and lining. Here are samples of some of my favorites.
If you’d like a bag or mittens please contact me to talk about what you’d like to commission.
