Raw Edge Sewing

I love to use raw edges in sewing. Mostly I work with bias cuts which allow for fraying without unraveling. The cut is diagonal to the weave and the fray just gets better each time the textile is washed.

I’ve used raw edges in housewares, up-cycled clothes, and with silk on several formal dresses. Most exciting was a wedding dress for my sister-in-law.

If you are interested in working with me on a clothing project please contact me for a discussion and quote.
